Governments around the world are increasingly recognizing the strategic importance of sodium-ion battery technology, introducing new policies and funding initiatives to accelerate its development and commercialization.
In China, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has included sodium-ion batteries in its key technology development roadmap, with substantial R&D grants available for manufacturers. The European Union has also allocated significant funding under its Horizon Europe program for next-generation battery technologies, including sodium-ion.
These policy initiatives are expected to significantly reduce the time-to-market for sodium-ion batteries, with several large-scale production facilities expected to come online within the next two years.
